Greetings from Detroit! I am putting together a small web-hosting solution here. I'm using ISPConfig as my choice for Web Control - it's the only "open-source" package that supports multiple servers out of the box in a way that actually make sense. My dilemma: I already have a fully configured and registered DNS system in place using PowerDNS. Is there a packaged way to manage PowerDNS directly from ISPConfig (probably by directly manipulating the PowerDNS database)? Ron Gage
There is a PowerDNS plugin for ISPConfig, and it's part of every installation; it's not officially supported but actively used by several hosters and maintained by them in a way that they submit patches if something gets broken or incompatibilities arise. The iSPConfig installer is not able to set it up automatically. And in your case, the problem arises that your DNS data is not in the ISPConfig database, so you would probably have to import it first using the ISPConfig remote API. The plugin then acts as a bridge to update your PowerDNS database when a zone is added or updated in ISPConfig. https://git.ispconfig.org/ispconfig...ilable/powerdns_plugin.inc.php?ref_type=heads
