ISPConfig / AWStats - how to protect "stats" folder and files of Client web site

Hi,

Any suggestion on how to configure ISPConfig / AWStats to implement protection on default "stats" folder under web directory and its file contents, the intention is to avoid accidental removal of that folder, updating the .htpasswd, disable the copy of folder/files by the Web Site admin / client.

I tried Linux "CHATTR" option "immutable" on files .htaccess and .htpasswd so far, not just the password protection for accessing the status.
Kindly advice.
