    What is the best Linux server to use in terms of production and reliability?

    Both in terms of the operating system and the hardware actually. Any suggestions?

    Most of them are fine. I personally use Debian.

    Regarding hardware, you can easily use a VPS from Hetzner for example. They will do the maintenance on the hardware, and you have a virtual server with good uptime.
