I am rather new to the Linux world but have assisted in the installation of a new Ubuntu Linux server, replacing our old AIX server.

I am an old vet at Windows but have a new Ubuntu box I am working with.

If I convert a Windows box, to a Ubuntu box at the server location, how do I access the server using the Ubuntu GUI ?

Is there a utility similar to PUTTY to interface with the server programs?

    Thanks

You can use PuTTY to log in to your Ubuntu server via SSH.

    Thanks falco.

How do you start putty from the breezy GUI?

    PuTTY is a Windows program.

On Ubuntu's Gnome desktop, you can start a normal shell instead to get access to the command line.
