In the download from openoffice.org is a folder called desktop-integration that includes the menu items.

It's a little easier to use that than to manually create an icon. It also creates icons for each individual application.

    Just a heads up. :)

I'm getting an error message when trying to install the .deb file in the desktop integration directory:

    "openoffice.org-core conflicts with openoffice.org-unbundled"

Prior to installing OOo 3 I have removed 2.4 and the hidden openoffice.org2 directory from my /home directory.

    Any idea?

The openoffice.org-core package is a part of the 2.4 version of Open Office.

    Try removing it first with
    Code:
    apt-get remove openoffice.org-core
