    Hello all,

I've setup another ISPConfig server, perfect sever debian
Added this server to an existing server.

In the server config used is mirror from server1

This is a test setup (nameserver usage etc)

But now is this server synchroning with server1
    This is a behavior i don't want.

    eg:
email accounts are both on server1 AND server2
The servers are set at user limits to use server1 for all services
except 1 test client (me) is set to use server2 on all services

when lookin at the vmail folder.
at server1 the [email protected] account -> new is filled
at server2 The [email protected] account -> new is empty

At server 1 the [email protected] account -> new is filled
At server 2 the [email protected] account -> new is filled

WHAT will happen with the mail is server2 is dropped from this multiserver setup
(server2 is for 3 months testing)

What i want is the following:
several servers, pref managed by server1
NOT the same data on all servers, this has to be unique
The only thing i want to use from the servers is the DNS service (for nameserver)
And the other services per website (eg 1 client per server->that can host multiple domains/sites (think reseller servers))

how to get this done, not sychronising web and mail on other servers... only the dns records

    Thnx

Take a look at the multiservers etup guides. to mirror only dns, the dns maste and slave servers have to be dns only servers, so they may not host email or websites.

    Thank you for your reply.

Using eg DNS service only on a server is a future thing.
Have to collect some funds to get more servers ;)

My goal was to use the servers DNS, cause you need more IP's for good NS
And use the rest, web, mail etc etc for 1 client per server so the mail and web database has to be empty and not filled with data from an other servers.
I now see this current config as a fallback if server 1 is temp unavailable

So i gues i have to setup the servers as standalone's
Or is there an other way to use the DNS as nameserver. because i only want to share the DNS.
customers will pay for a private hosting server, so almost all disk, cpu and traffic has to be on customers account, only DNS shared among ther servers

If you can point me to some reading material, please
Most things i can find with my friend google, but sometimes the forrest is to dense....
