I've setup a new ISPConfig3 server cluster based on Debian Wheezy succesfully. Now, i have 3 servers: webserver, mailserver & mysql-server. I don't have dedicated DNS-servers, because i use the DNS-servers of the colocation provider. There was no Howto available for Debian Wheezy, so i used these two howtos as a guide line, which where very useful: http://www.howtoforge.com/installin...tabase-servers-on-debian-5.0-with-ispconfig-3 http://www.howtoforge.com/multiserv...se-servers-on-debian-squeeze-with-ispconfig-3 Now, i have the following questions: 1) It surprises me that Postfix isn't installed on the webserver. (I installed it, but it isn't mentioned in both Howtos) I think EXIM or Postfix must be configured on the webserver as well, to send messages/notifications from the system and to bring the ability to send mail via websites. Why is Postfix not mentioned in the webserver section of these howtos? 2) Within both howtos, in the Mailserver- & MySQL-server howto sections, there's nothing about setting up quota, while on a "normal" (no multi ISPConfig3-server) quota has been setup, probably also for mail at least. So, my question is do i need to setup quota on the mailserver and mysql-server as well? Thank you so much for your feedback!
Normally you have a minimal mailserver installed on Linux, if that not the case on your system, then either install postfix or exim. Linux quota is only required for the web server node. the mail and db server does not use it.
