I ws doing a system update on all servers and its says they are all up to date but started getting this email

WARNING - DB::query -> reconnect Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock'

Not sure what to. All websites on server are down.

    Help!

Try to restart mysql and then check the syslog for mysql errors. It might be that the my.cnf file from mysql contains an outdated config setting that prevents the start of mysql.

Looks like I had a crash dump occurred on the MySQL db. I am trying to restore an image backup of this vm now.

Looks like that server was having all kinds of read errors and MySQL dumps but was still serving up websites for days prior to the final crash. What was worse it copied over the errors to the last image backup we did. Had to go 2 weeks back to find a disk image from our weekly image backups that did not have db corruption reported in syslog.
