New to linux, need help with yum

ok so im doing the Fedora 8 server setup right now, and im on page 3 were it says "yum update"
i do this but it says something about the URL is not valid. now im really confused and i dont know if i need this or not, so please get back to me.

Hi DaveP,

have you changed the repository configuration? (in /etc/yum.repos.d/). If not, try to update again tomorrow - maybe it's a temporary problem.

havent touched it,

but ok, ive tried it for 2 days now, but i will try again tomorrow. thx again
