Is it possible to install ISPConfig 3.0 using Debian 5.0 on a Dell 6650 with 4 CPU's? If so are there any 'issues' I need to be aware of?...thanks...

It is good to know that only Red Hat and Suse are official supported by Dell, but that does not mean that you can't use other Linux distibutions

I use different Dell PowerEdge servers since almost 5 years now and had never problems with running Debian amd64 on those machines. Debian also supports SMP systems like you have. It might be that some RAID controllers are not supported.

Thanks for the quick reply and helpful info. Will it be possible to use a PERC 3 or 4/DC RAID with Debian 5 on the 6650?

    Linux is for system admins.

I think is bether to use a Hardware RAID.
No issues, the only issue here is SO linux administration.
Hardware Raid resolves the instalation and IO speed problem.
Fake raid (software) can be managed too, but is not easy to understand.

Hardware raid is allways transparent to SO (ALLWAYS, if dell dont manage that, is because is just a raid chip for software raid).

Have 50 cpus and 50 hard drives is not diferent from 1 cpu and 4 hds.

Debian and FreeBsd are the realy server SO´s for me.

IspConfig is just a "website", and dell is just a brand made in china like the rest.
