Hello, new guy here (and not a programmer).

I built a server using Ubuntu 12.04 and ispconfig 3 version 3.0.5.3. Everything WAS working fine until last night. I think I majorly screwed up owner and/or permission settings. I was trying to globally change folder permissions to 755 for the four website I set up through ispconfig. But I didn't realize that ispconfig was also inside the /var/www directory. Now I get a 443 error when I try to browse to any of the sites. I also can no longer get to isp config, I get an error screen there too. Any thoughts?

    Thanks

**** update. I updated ispconfig, that got all the permissions/owners set back to what they should be. I then had to delete my websites from ispconfig and rebuild themwith backup content. Seems back to normal.

ISPConfig self manages the permissions for owner/group for websites, mails etc. So it is an advise don' change the permissions until it is absolutely necessary.
