2) During installation, if saw: ./configure:Error: APACI failed ERROR: Could not configure Apache Use following commands to fix it. rm /bin/sh (or if you want to be safe: mv /bin/sh /bin/sh.dash) ln -s /bin/bash /bin/sh It is because Ubuntu developers have replaced Bash with Dash, so the regular /bin/sh that is used to be linked to /bin/bash is now pointing to /bin/dash.

If it's a new install, please make sure that the directories /root/ispconfig and /home/admispconfig do not exist already.

You could've used this guide: http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-ubuntu8.04-lts , and you wouldn't have faced these problems.
My install today missed this package as well: libmysql++-dev following the same instructions for 8.04. My mistake I didn't change: ln -sf /bin/bash /bin/sh Everything good. Thanks
Same problem on new Fedora Core 10 Install I used a perfect install for Fedore Core 10 today, but I got the following errors: Everything seemed fine til then. I did install mysql-devel with yum and checked, nothing to do on reinstall. The server does not yet have any domain name which may or may not have anything to do with it... Any ideas for me? Richard
Hi Till, Thanks for your help. I downloaded with wget into /tmp and started from /tmp/install_ispconfig
I looked at the /var/log/ispconfig_install.log... two warnings: Obviously this would be the problem. This is on a totally new install using perfect setup from basic Fedora Core setup on a clean system.
Ok... did a little more checking, tried installing from another directory, and saw that it was NOT installing spamassassin because perl ExtUtils MakeMaker.pl was not there... perl was installed, but at least that much was missing. solution: Then I did another clean install of ispconfig after removing /root/ispconfig directory and it installed perfectly. It is up and running fine. So for Fedora Core 10 at least, perl ExtUtils may not be installed normally(??), so maybe ought to add that to The Perfect Server - Fedora 10? Thanks for all you guys do, you are a great help to us all. Richard
I am lost to but also I can't start the apache server so no apache or ispconfig is running. I can ssh and the mail is still working but the ISPConfig 2.2.28 upgrade and ISPConfig 2.2.29 is not a succes... can I go back to ?
