I know this is not a Direct ISConfig question. So forgive me if it is wrong to ask this here, but I also know you guys probably have the answer.

We are having a problem of email messages being sent repeatedly to a few different email addresses. When I look in the logs it says that the connection timed out before the end of the data was sent and that it would try to send the message again. And it does try to send it again with the same result each time. THe problem is the receiving address gets the email each time, so their inbox gets very full with the same message over and over again.

What Can I do to limit the amount of times our server tries to send a message? Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

Have a look at the maximal_queue_lifetime, queue_run_delay, minimal_backoff_time and maximal_backoff_time parameters in Postfix.
