    Hello,
I have a very strange issue. A few months back I migrated my old Postfix mail server to a new server running Debian 8. It's a regular Postfix server with Amavis-d, clamav, spamassassin, etc... with DB-based aliases and accounts that I manage via Postfixadmin.
Things work generally just fine, but every now and then SMTP authorization will stop working properly. I can log in via IMAP and read mails, but sending via SMTP fails. Only after restarting saslauthd does it start working again.

I checked /var/log/mail.log and /var/log/auth.log and I can't see anything that pops out. I can't even find errors specific to the username that was having difficulties loggin on during that timeframe. Only after restarting saslauthd do I start to see the username popping up with successful authorizations.

Does anybody have any tips on how I can get to the bottom of this issue?

Sorry for jumping onto such an old thread but I have the same issue.
Did you ever find the cause?
