problem with nameresolv

    I installed a new server with ISPCONFIG on a Xen domU

    Problem I have is that if I enable the firewall in ISPCONFIG
    I can not ping to a domain name.
    When disabling the firewall in ispconfig I can ping domainnames again.

    how to solve this?

    If i'm not wrong, you will have to allow ICMP in firewall to go through for ping to work.. Wait for experts to answer heh..

    ah yes

    think, think
    problem is I can ping to ip addresses so seems port 53 is blocked,
    but that was allowed in ispconfig.

    You might have to enable pings in /etc/sysctl.conf.
