Smart move. It does: Code: Jun 23 14:09:42 servername pure-ftpd-mysql[4557]: Starting ftp server: Running: /usr/sbin/pure-ftpd-mysql-virtualchroot -l mysql:/etc/pure-ftpd/db/mysql.conf -l pam -A -O clf:/var/log/pure-ftpd/transfer.log -H -8 UTF-8 -b -u 1000 -J HIGH -D -p 40110:40210 -Y 1 -E -B
Ok, so it gets the right ports but still uses ports outside of the configured range. Getting a bit out of ideas, looks somehow as if this could be a bug in pure-ftpd. Maybe there is a mailinglist or forum for pure-ftpd where you might post your issue that get's read by the pure-ftpd developers?
I was looking into that. There is a mailinglist. I was testing it just now and got the error message "530 Authentication failed" and "425 Unable to identify the local data socket". Will search for this later.
