Wow, now I feel like I have been working on a Microsoft Server Still can't send email via the server, can receive fine and can send via web mail app. I have read multiple threads/message here and tried as many solutions as possible. Always resulting with the same 'relay access denied' error. Here is the setup: server is ws5.myserver.com, with a dozen virtual sites on it already the sample virtual site: www.mydomain.com the sample user name: web11_username Now, this is what I set up on the email client (Outlook /Thunderbird/etc). Remember that receiving mail is fine on all virtual domains and accounts. Outgoing (SMTP) Server info: user name: web11_username server name: mail.mydomain.com Security and Authentication (both user name and password required) Secure connection: Tried none, TLS, if available... What am I missing? I am getting quite frustrated... AG
Did you enable "My server requires authentication" in your email client? edit.. After reading your message again, you did allready test that.. Sorry about this post.
Please make sure this is the correct option. In Outlook Express, for example, the correct option is named "Server requires authentication.".
user authentication Yes, I did that already on multiple clients to test it. Still not passing thru. I also checked the main.cf file as suggested in another thread.
one more thing the problem does NOT happend when sending mail to a site hosted on the same server. It is only happening when sending to outside email accounts.
Have a look here: http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showpost.php?p=16205&postcount=34 Did you enable "My server requires authentication." as shown here? http://mail.cs.uiuc.edu/relay/outlook-config.html
secure authentication I am using Outlook 2003 on a desktop, and Thunderbird on my laptop. It is still being rejected. I am willing to pay for you to look at it. Are you open to that idea?
