I am sure there is an easy solution but I can find it. I need to restore a joomla website. My server, my website. Is there a step by step approach?

I am running perfect server ubuntu 14.04 apache etc.

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately I was unclear.

I have a backup of the site created in Akeeba Backup. In order to restore I need to get the files into the root of the website. Whenever I try to copy the files to the root (even as root) I get permission denied.

There must be some utility that Ispconfig uses to create the website. I need something like that?

    thank you

    No.

According to the error message, you try to copy the files to the wrong folder. the website has to be restored into the "web" folder and not the root of the website.
