    Hi,

The PTR records show up locally when I dig -x 63.223.*.* however when I check on DNSStuff it says no PTR records are returned. I replaced the last 2 octets with *.

    Here is DNSStuff output:

    How I am searching:
Asking h.root-servers.net for *.*.223.63.in-addr.arpa PTR record:
h.root-servers.net says to go to figwort.arin.net. (zone: 63.in-addr.arpa.)
Asking figwort.arin.net. for *.*.223.63.in-addr.arpa PTR record:
    figwort.arin.net [192.42.93.32] says to go to NS.CAIS.COM. (zone: 223.63.in-addr.arpa.)
Asking NS.CAIS.COM. for *.*.223.63.in-addr.arpa PTR record:
    ns.cais.com [205.177.10.10] says to go to ns2.wvfiber.net. (zone: *.223.63.in-addr.arpa.)
Asking ns2.wvfiber.net. for *.*.223.63.in-addr.arpa PTR record: Got CNAME referral to *.24/0.*.223.63.in-addr.arpa. at server ns2.qp.com. (zone 24/0.*.223.63.in-addr.arpa.) [from 63.223.24.34]
Asking ns2.qp.com. for *.24/0.*.223.63.in-addr.arpa. PTR record:
    ns2.qp.com [69.61.67.3] says to go to ns1.h****.com. (zone: *.24/0.*.223.63.in-addr.arpa.)
Asking ns1.h****.com. for *.24/0.*.223.63.in-addr.arpa. PTR record: Reports that no PTR records exist [from 63.223.*.*].

    Answer:
No PTR records exist for 63.223.*.*. [Neg TTL=86400 seconds]

As you can see my ISP has delegated lookups for my 5 IPs to my nameserver, I assume they did something like RFC2317.

    Here is my Dig output:

    dig -x 63.223.*.*
;; Truncated, retrying in TCP mode.

Can anyone tell me if I need to setup a special zone or something?

    Thanks,

Please ask your ISP to create the PTR records for you.
