    Hi all, hope you can help me, i desisted to use CentOS because i couldn't get it to receive emails. So and as i new to this and most of examples are for Debian i change the OS to Debian 9.

    I used the "The Perfect Server - Debian 9 (Stretch) with Apache, BIND, Dovecot, PureFTPD and ISPConfig 3.1" to install everything in my server.

    ISPConfig Version: 3.1.14p1

    now i have a different problem i can't send email, and when i try to load the "http://70.35.205.116/roundcubemail/installer" as i had it in CentOS it doent run, checking the instalation on Page3 , i can see that is a little bit more simple for debian but i doesn't include the web installer of the Roundcube.

    So i try to added following this example:
    https://www.rosehosting.com/blog/how-to-install-roundcube-webmail-on-debian-9/
    but i still not opening could someone help me?.

    I don't think there is web installer for debian based on perfect server tutorials unless you obtained and trying to install roundcube manually.

    Hi Taleman, thanks for the response.

    Let me tell you that following the perfect server guide it never ask me for the "Password of the databases administrative user", don't know why!, but as I was able to create email users and login into roundcube, I did not think it was important, but that might be the problem as that i cannot send or receive emails, in Roundcube i've got a timeout connection error.

    That's why I want the roundcube webmail installer, to check if everything is ok and also because i could add some features to roundcube.

    But as the issue that i have what do you suggest?, start from scratch?.

    First of all, follow exactly and only the perfect server tutorial and don't mix it up with other tutorials unless you really know what you are doing.

    Secondly, set the vhost correctly for roundcube so that you can access it via its page. Based on your above reply it seems that you have past this.

    Thirdly, your port 25 must always be opened and accessible otherwise your mail server will normally fail.

    Check your logs will be wise to determine the failure.

    Again there is no web installer unless you want to install or update roundcube manually.

    Aharasis let me respond point by point:

    1- I followed the perfect server tutorial step by step, and didn't mix it up with other tutorials. After see I wasn't able to send and receive email, it was when i decide to check it with the Roundcube webmail installer.

    2- If you speak about the Step 4 of the tutorial i change it to look like this http://roundcube.domain.net/installer but is not working, (domain.net is no the real one).

    3- This might be the more important thing; Here in Mexico that port is blocked for the biggest ISP provider, also the company in which i have hosted my server (ionos.mx), has that port blocked. Thats why i set to be used the port 465.

    About the logs in ISPConfig don't get any errors, and as i'm a complete noob i must ask for a little bit of indulgence and patience, but if you want i can copy the outcome of the logs.

    Ok i've spoke to my hosting and they letme use the 25 port so the email are arraibing witout a problem, but for sending emails is not working, the roundcube stay thinking and after a time, i've got a timeout connection error.

    [IMG]

    The funny thing is that when i was using CentOS y was able to change the sending port to 465 and the email reach the destination without problemas, of course in centos i had the Roundcube Webmail Installer, so y was able to change everithing i need.

    i'll leave you the logs if you want to check it.

    Can you post your postfix master.cf at /etc/postfix/master.cf?

    Nothing in that log says that you have sent mail to any account.

    Something seems wrong with your roundcube. Try to uninstall and reinstall roundcube.

  19. Gaston Girardi

    Gaston Girardi Member HowtoForge Supporter

    I finally got it working without uninstall it i'm putting the configs i did:

    config.inc.php inside /etc/roundcube
    Code:
    // SMTP server host (for sending mails).
    // To use SSL/TLS connection, enter hostname with prefix ssl:// or tls://
    // If left blank, the PHP mail() function is used
    // Supported replacement variables:
    // %h - user's IMAP hostname
    // %n - hostname ($_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'])
    // %t - hostname without the first part
    // %d - domain (http hostname $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] without the first part)
    // %z - IMAP domain (IMAP hostname without the first part)
    // For example %n = mail.domain.tld, %t = domain.tld
    $config['smtp_server'] = '';

    // SMTP port (default is 25; use 587 for STARTTLS or 465 for the
    // deprecated SSL over SMTP (aka SMTPS))
    $config['smtp_port'] = 465;

    // SMTP username (if required) if you use %u as the username Roundcube
    // will use the current username for login
    $config['smtp_user'] = '%u';

    // SMTP password (if required) if you use %p as the password Roundcube
    // will use the current user's password for login
    $config['smtp_pass'] = '%p';
