Just so you know I have port 465 blocked in the firewall. I don't mind using that port but it has to be locally. I would rather people use webmail and have access to the smtp server or if they have to use POP3 Imight open the fire firewall and allow it, but no remote smtp. I kinda wanna leave that port closed to everyone. I don't want to open SMTP ports with iptables.
Restart pure-ftpd-mysql daemon and then check with 'netstat -tap' command if it is really not listening. If the program don't start, then check the syslog file to find out why it fails. Maybe you replaced an SSL cert and the new cert is not valid or something similar.
