    Hey there.
So like the title of the thread says, i have the subdomain all set up and accessible, and would like to add custom apache directives for it like the main domain. Clicking on the options tab, the text area for the apache directives appears for about a second and then vanishes.
    Is this normal?

Subdomains have no apache directives as they are just an alias for a website and not a vhost on their own. add the apache directives to the website.

I see, thanks for the clarification.

If you want to have a subdomain which is separate from the main domain, then either add it as new website or use the vhost subdomain function instead of a normal subdomain. A vhost subdomain is a separate vhost which has its own web root while a 'normal' subdomain is an alias of a website which means it shares the same docroot.

You have to enable it under System > Interface config. Afterwards, you find it in the menu of the sites module.
