Hi I was wondering if someone can help me. I have Squid setup and it works great. I need to assign an External Ip to a computer. I'm using ARP so I can get the External Ip to go through the firewall. When I assign the External IP to the computer I get this error when trying to get to the web: "While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.tsn.ca/ The following error was encountered: Access Denied. Access control configuration prevents your request from being allowed at this time. Please contact your service provider if you feel this is incorrect. Your cache administrator is root. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Any help would be great. Thanks Tommy
You mean your computer now has a public IP address, but Squid doesn't allow it to connect to the web? I think you might have to tell Squid that this IP address is also allowed to connect to the web.
Yes, something like this. You might want to have a look at this Squid tutorial: http://www.howtoforge.com/linux_secure_browsing_squid
