I think about to switch my ispconfig installation to Nginx. Here are my 3 Questions: Is it possible (and if... is it hard) to switch my current Wheezy/Apache installation to Nginx? What are the disadvantages of nginx vs apache? Will nginx have the same possible Settings like php.ini directives, redirecting, and Nginx Directives (instead of currently 'Apache Directives' in Option-Tab on Webhosting)?
1. Yes, it's possible, and no, it's not particularly difficult. @florian030 wrote a post that details the steps involved. It's not particularly complicated. http://blog.schaal-24.de/ispconfig/ispconfig-apache-durch-nginx-ersetzen/?lang=en I had to do this a few months ago and from what I recall, the process hasn't changed much, if at all. 2. In my experience, there aren't any. 3. Yes.
