System-Backup...

    would this be ok to make a Backup from the system?

    Code:
    cd /
    tar -czplf backup.tar.gz --atime-preserve *
    mkisofs -o backup.iso backup.tar.gz
    Or are messages like this:

    teeling me, this backup isn't complete?

    These are just sockets, no regular files. That's normal, don't worry about it.
    BTW, did you have a look at the "Backup" tutorials on HowtoForge? http://www.howtoforge.com/taxonomy_menu/1/34
    Might be interesting for you. :)

    as a matter of fact I was looking for something like this :) tar will not get /usr and /var...
