The Perfect Server - OpenSUSE 11.1 noob help

    Select Statically assigned IP Address and enter the IP address, subnet mask and hostname and save the changes by selecting Next:

    Now select Hostname/DNS and enter the hostname (e.g. server1.example.com) and nameservers (e.g. 145.253.2.75 and 213.191.92.86):
    Hi all could someone explane to me where i find these am total noob on networking and learning more everyday :D

    am trying to run a home server following this great tut

    You could get a hostname at dyndns.org and use that for your server.

    Regarding the network settings, take a look at your router's web interface, there you should see the router's local IP address. This is the gateway IP. This also tells you in what subnet you are. Pick a free IP from that subnet and use it for your server.
