Thanks falco for that link. I am going to take a look at it. I alresdy thought that I must use the server I have got from my isp. Hope I get things working.
Falco, In your Howto you say that the server must use SMTP-AUTH. If it doesn't can I still send emails via that server? I think it does not use SMTP-AUTH because in outlook i do not enable the smtp verification and can than use my email acount. I followd the steps in the tut. and I can't email anymore. I have looked on the postfix wiki and site but cant find any answers, mabey you (or anyboby) can help me? TIA DaRKNeSS
It depends. But the server should use SMTP-AUTH otherwise it might be easy for spammers to abuse it. Is the IP address of the Outlook system listed in mynetworks in /etc/postfix/main.cf? IP addresses/subnets listed there can send without authentication.
No ip adress there only the one I put there with install of ISPConfig 127.0.0.0/8. I must do some thing wrong cant see it. But what I ment was that If I want to send mail from my xp pc I must indeed point outlook to my isp server (netmail.home.nl) and give a user name and passwd. That's SMTP-AUTH ?? But I dont have to enable the smtp verification setting to receive and send mail. I thought in my previous post that this setting was SMTP-AUTH. Does the howto also aply to an ISPConfig server? That's what I have with Ubuntu 6.10 the perfect setup. Mabey I must open an new threat in configuration?? Because I think some other people are mabey intrested in this also. Looks like you did not set the MX record in DNS for mail.home.nl. If you intended to set the MX record for home.nl, remove the system name from your MX record.

First thanks everybody for trying to help me!!!! Falco mail.home.nl is the server I must use in my outlook to recieve mail from my isp. both pop3 and smtp use the same, mail.home.nl. IN dutch!! the settings http://www.troublesathome.nl/index.php?section=faq&page=instellingen#vraag6 So is it the adress of my own server no. In my /etc/resolv.conf Code: nameserver 192.168.1.1 thats the ip from my router.
Are that just some name servers. Mabey I can also give the name server of my ISP?? Tried your sugestion no go also i have put the name servers from my isp and tryed again, again no go. starting to think I am going to give it up......................
