    Hi,

the typo3 installation manual (https://github.com/TYPO3/TYPO3.CMS/blob/master/INSTALL.md) recommends an installation method where SSH access and symlinks are needed (https://github.com/TYPO3/TYPO3.CMS/blob/master/INSTALL.md#if-ssh-and-symlinks-are-possible).

How would I do that on ISPConfig3?
    The document says:
Which folder would that be in ISPConfig?
Usually, the folder structure for a web is /var/www/examle.com/web, which is a link itself, pointing to /var/www/clients/client123/web123/web

So the folder 'one level above Document Root' would be /var/www/clients/client123/web123. But as root I can not create files there, and I guess there is a reason for that.

So how can I fulfil the requirement here?

    Thank you very much,
    regards, Tom

    Hi Till,

sorry, I did not mention it is a Debian Wheezy system.

I guess you mean /var/www/yourdomain.com/web/, but this is the document root.
Following the installation manual of typo3, the files have to be put 'one level above Document Root'; that is what I am looking for.

You can put them in the private folder instead of web.
