    Hi folks,

    Ubuntu 7.10 desktop amd64
    VirtualBox
    Windows Vista Ultimate

    I have an Ubuntu box. I'm prepared installing VirtualBox on it. Then I'll install Vista on VirtualBox as Guest. I have following questions;

    1)
Has any folk on the Forum made such installation? Would there be any problem running Windows Vista Ultimate as guest on VirtualBox

    2)
I found the tutoral installing VirtualBox on Ubuntu on repo

    Installing VirtualBox On Ubuntu
    http://howtoforge.com/virtualbox_ubuntu

Is there a more up-to-date tutorial?

    3)
Where can I find a tutorial install Vista Ultimate as Guest on VirtualBox? Would the installation be similar to installing Vista on a new HD?

    TIA

Vista eats up a lot of resources, so I guess it will be rather slow in a virtual machine... Would be better to use XP.

    The installation is the same.

    OK, thanks.

Actually I don't run Windows for prolonged time. Neither I need it. In a recent conference MS gave me a true copy of Vista, Ultimate edition, with FREE licence valid for one year. As curiosity I installed it on an 64 bit Athlon PC and it worked. I thought instead of allowing it taking up a whole 160G HD better installing it on VirturalBox and let it sleeping there until the licence expired.

I'll try to find an obsolete 10G/13G ATA HD as its home and let it rest there until the end of its day.

    Noted with thank.
