Hi, I have just trashed my ISPConfig installation when attempting to upgrade from 2.2.9 to 2.2.19. First I tried to do an upgrade by installing over the top of the earlier version, as recommended. This failed with a "could not unpack ISPConfig system" message. I then followed some advice elsewhere on this forum from a year or two ago, which suggested installing from /tmp rather than /root. It failed again, same message, but this time seemed to think it was a fresh installation. Any ideas? regards Richard Allan PART OF LOG FILE FOLLOWS: ############################## Wed Jan 9 11:26:37 GMT 2008 - [ISPConfig] - installation directory: /root/install_ispconfig Wed Jan 9 11:26:37 GMT 2008 - [ISPConfig] - operating system: CentOS 4.6 Wed Jan 9 11:26:40 GMT 2008 - [ISPConfig] - Upgrade einer existierenden ISPConfig-Installation. / Upgrading an existing ISPConfig installation. / Mise à jour d'une installation d'ISPConfig existante. Buy a bigger hard drive? Im not familiar with Linux parition resizing "yet" but i would use a partition resizer to increase your tmp partition then rerun it. When you go buy a bigger hard drive backup that drive as a image and reinstall the image to retain all files / settings / boot up strings etc. I always use large hard drives. Even in older boxes. I just updated to 2.19 as well on a OLD Dell optiplex gx110 that i only use for nameserving but it has a 500 gb hard drive. Not any error and the install was flawless. Using CentOS 5.1
Fixed! Thanks for your responses, but it appears to be resolved now, and disk space was not the culprit. The problem turned out to be a Perl module dependency(s). I possibly forgot to mention that I had just upgraded from Centos 4.4 to 4.6 (sorry about that), and it appears HTML:arser was out of date, which was causing spamassassin build and / or configuration to break. That wasn't entirely obvious to me from the error messages and log file, but I got there in the end. Also DB_File would not build because it was missing a db.h file, and I needed to install db4-devel and BerkeleyDB (I think). A bit of trial and error there, and I still don't understand why that wasn't needed for Centos 4.4 + ISPConfig 2.2.9, but was for Centos 4.6 + ISPConfig 2.2.19. Anyway, it looks as if I am up and running, so thanks for your support and excellent software package - much appreciated. regards Richard Allan
