virtual machines and ispconfig

    Hi again,

    I just setup my new machine with debian 7 and ispconfig only to realise that i cant use the vmachine madule as i havent setup my system to use vm's

    is it possible to run say solusvm along with ispconfig 3

    You cant use the vm module in ispconfig as Linux quota can not be used on servers that run openvz, so that not a limitation of ispconfig. If solusvm uses openvz for virtualisation, then you cant use it on a web hosting server.

    KVM should work. The question is if solusvm tries to alter any configurations or replace any packages on the system that are used by ispconfig. If I remember correctly, solusvm is one of these tools that dont use packages from the official repos and install just their own versions of various linux daemons, if thats the case, then it will most likely break your server. But I havent tested solusvm on a ispconfig server, so I cant tell you for sure if it will break it or not.

    so if i looked at possibly virtuliser ( http://www.virtualizor.com/ ) and set it to use kvm

    just noticed solus will let me do kvm so i could be ok
