Wonderful HOWTO! It saved me tons of time. I have a question though....whenever I do an apt-get upgrade, my system want's to d/l and install the postfix, postfix-mysql, and postfix-tls. Doing so breaks the config of course. Is there some way to tell the system not to look for updates to these packages when checking for other updates?
Normally updating these packages does not break your config, if you select to not overwrite the config files during update. But maybe falko has tested it for this special howto.
You can do it with apt pipnning: http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/apt-howto/ch-apt-get.en.html http://jaqque.sbih.org/kplug/apt-pinning.html
