Hi, I was attempting this install on suse 9.3 x86_64 but I just couldn''t get it going. I did try all the suggestions on the forum, thanks. I now have a 32 bit machine and the install gets right to the end, then dies miserably with this: Your Choice: 2 chown: `admispconfig:admispconfig': invalid user chown: `admispconfig:mysql': invalid user Connected successfully to MySQL server chown: `admispconfig:admispconfig': invalid user ls: /etc/apache2/vhosts.d/*.conf: No such file or directory ls: /etc/apache2/vhosts.d/*.conf: No such file or directory chown: `admispconfig:admispconfig': invalid user chown: `admispconfig:admispconfig': invalid user chown: `admispconfig:admispconfig': invalid user Restarting some services... which: no apachectl in (/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/sbin:/root/bin:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/local/libexec) Shutting down mail service (Postfix) done Starting mail service (Postfix) done Shutting down mail service (Postfix) done Starting mail service (Postfix) done Shutting down ProFTPD Server: done Starting ProFTPD Server: done Shutting down ProFTPD Server: done Starting ProFTPD Server: done Starting ISPConfig system... ispconfig_httpd: bad user name admispconfig /root/ispconfig/httpd/bin/apachectl startssl: httpd could not be started ERROR: Can't get information about user admispconfig. ISPConfig system is now up and running! Congratulations! Your ISPConfig system is now installed. If you had to install quota, please take the steps described in the installation manual. Otherwise your system is now available without reboot. Of course, the system is not available. Can someone point me in the right direction (and if I missed something obvious, please forgive me,, I am a novell guy)? Thanks, Dale
Please reinstall ISPConfig. Delete the current ISPConfig installation: rm -rf /root/ispconfig rm -rf /home/admispconfig Then unpack the installer tar.gz again, enter the install_ispconfig directory and run the setup script.
I Tried that 3 times now Thanks for the response, I did try that already though.. 3 times. There must be something else, any other ideas?
Then you may have a look at the ISPConfig install log. Maybe there are any errors why the admispconfig user could not be created. The logfile is: /var/log/ispconfig_install.log
Did errors appear before the errors you posted? I think the main problem is that x86_64 isn't supported by ISPConfig yet...
