    Hello,
I'm running an Ubuntu 12.10 server with ISPConfig and following a tutorial here on HowtoForge, during the installation I only had sFTP configured. Could this be why Wordpress cannot automatically install plugins?
What can I do to get around this (other than manually uploading everything)?
    Thanks in advance!

    There are 2 possiblitys:

    a) You uploaded wordpress as wrong user (e.g. root) instead of the web user of this website.
    b) You dont use php-mode php-fcgi or php-fpm and / or suexec is not switched on in website settings.
